Subject Knowledge Chalk Talks
Religious Education and Worldviews
Ofsted inspectors have been critical when “teachers do not have the knowledge or the training to teach this subject [Religious Education] well…and with confidence,” and when “pupils lack knowledge about the different religions within and beyond their community” (Ofsted School Reports, 2019)
I have created a set of pre-recorded webinars that will build your teachers' subject knowledge of Religious Education and Worldviews, improving confidence to teach Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism, as well as the diversity in Judaism and Christianity.
Topics:
Jewish:
Jesus:
Muslim:
Hindu:
Buddhist:
Sikh:
Understanding the history and diversity
Including responses beyond Christianity

Curriculum Materials
All Key Knowledge is planned as part of a progressive learning journey based on enquiry-led learning, building pupils' understanding of the big concepts.

Primary Geography and History
Although these are two discreet subjects, with each developing their own specific skills, the learning in one can strengthen the depth of understanding in the other. For example, appreciating the rainforest biome and environment in a Geography unit will provide a context for understanding how the Maya may have lived in a History unit.
Therefore, all learning has been carefully sequenced to ensure a continuous recapping and building of knowledge, as pupils progress from one lesson to the next and from one unit to the next, better enabling them to learn and remember more.

REAL Video Resources
A range of believers sharing their lived experiences, bringing RE to life.
These video clips have been developed with representatives from a wide range of religions and worldviews, each sharing their own personal experiences and responses to specific questions from the RE curriculum.
They are short and easy to access so teachers can use in RE lessons to help spark interfaith dialogue in the classroom.
These have been embedded in the RE and Worldviews Curriculum materials.
“There is a focus on discussion and real-life experiences, and time dedicated for children to reflect on how …. similar or different…to experiences they have had or witnessed in their own lives.”
